Looking for a bit of peace and quiet? We have the perfect get-away...a cottage situated on the reef at Ahipara. A 4 wheel drive would be an advantage to get here but can collect if needed (plus provide vehicle storage). This accommodation is a new self contained modern cottage with large veranda plus a gas BBQ and only a 5 min stroll to an incredible beach. Peaks Cottage is situated in a pine plantation not far from 'Peaks' an world known surf spot with an brilliant left hander.

With dinner just a surfcast away or shell fish just under the waters edge all your problems will fade away when you immerse yourself in this beautiful natural environment .

We are at the bottom of the famous 90 Mile Beach. If you find yourself wanting a bit of adventure Ahipara Settlement is just round the corner.
From Horse Treks to Quad Bikes (Tours or Self Hire) or if you would like to try out BloKarting (miniature Land Yachts) the Local Adventure Centre has these for hire.

Peaks Cottage is only 1 hour away from the East Coast and 2 hours away from Cape Reinga (Bus tours are available from Kaitaia) Local tours are also available with knowledgeable hosts. This is only if you want to leave the peaceful surroundings of Peaks Cottage.

The Cottage sleeps 2 comfortably (One Master Bedroom with a double bed) or 4 (a Futon Lounge Suite folds out to a double bed).
All Linen and Towels supplied. You only need to bring some food and drink, there is a Compact Disk Player so bring your favorite songs and there is NO Television. A 4 wheel bike is available for hire.

Solar Power supplies the lighting and a small generator runs the washing machine when needed. There is plenty of fresh water available and some other accessories such as a surf board, wetsuit, fishing rods, surf ski or boogie boards.

Your Hosts Susan and Bob Lovell are Locals and know the area well (fishing spots and walking tracks)

There are some stunning Sand dunes just around the corner not to mention the Journey around the rocks to get to Peaks Cottage.

Peaks Cottage is located at the bottom of the world famous 90 Mile Beach, we are in fact just around the rocks of Shipwreck Bay.

We are a four hour drive from Auckland (state highway one to Kaitaia and head west to Ahipara) A 1.2 hour flight from Auckland to Kaitaia or a 6 hour bus ride also from Auckland.
